A vacancy has arisen for a Social Worker within the St Andrews Older People Team.
The successful candidate will be a qualified social worker (diploma or equivalent).
The successful candidate will work in a busy older people’s team and will carry a varied caseload, working with adults over the age of 65 years, with a range of needs. This includes those with physical disabilities, mental health difficulties and sensory impairment.
Experience of working with Older Adults will be advantageous but is not essential. Successful candidates should have the ability to work as part of a team, supporting individuals to access services specific to their needs or risks they may be experiencing. They should be able to work creatively and, in a solution-focused way.
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out a range of assessment and care management tasks including:
Before confirming appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
You are required to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up employment of this role and to complete the required post registration training and learning (PRTL) over the registration period.
Diploma in Social Work (or equivalent)
Ability to interpret data and analyse information
Knowledge and understanding of child/adult protection guidelines
Report writing skills
Registration with the SSSC
Ability to travel throughout Fife
