Salary: £32,123 – £38,340
Hours: 36 per week
We require a Social Worker with energy and enthusiasm to make a significant contribution to the work of the multi disciplinary work with homeless people in Edinburgh. You will manage complex community care cases in respect of people with a homeless background. Your role will entail assessment, care management and interventions to ensure best outcomes for people. The service serves a varied client group including young people, and people with substance misuse, mental/physical health problems..
You must have relevant experience of Social Work practice and be able to demonstrate that you understand the legal basis and social policy context underpinning social work practice, social process and human development, and social work approaches and interventions. Experience and understanding of adult protection, homelessness and the assessment and care management process; effective analytical, IT, interpersonal, time management and communication skills (both verbal and written); the ability to work on your own initiative, prioritise your own workload, maintain case records, work in partnership with other agencies and demonstrate delivery of services through case work and crisis intervention is essential. Applicants must have a BA (Hons) in Social Work or equivalent and be registered with SSSC.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range. For roles in grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals.
