New Beginnings is a multi-agency team established to identify and assess the needs of unborn babies at risk from compromised parenting related to such factors as parental substance misuse, mental health or learning disability.
Working hybrid style, based at home and at Linlathen Resource Centre you will work part or full time, 29.4 or 37 hours per week.

You will have a Social Work Degree, CQSW, Dip SW, CSS (with appropriate option).
You will provide an effective high quality social work service to children and families. You will assist children and families to live safely in the community and reduce the need for formal care arrangements. When this is not possible, you will work with children in care towards rehabilitation with their birth families, including extended family members.
You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of child care and protection practice, legislation and be committed to multi-agency working and bring a positive attitude to your work.
You will have experience of working with children and families and understand the needs of children who are care experienced. You will have commitment to promotion of positive outcomes for children and young people.
You must be able to communicate effectively with children, involving families and carers in decision making processes. You will have the ability to undertake comprehensive assessments within given timescales.
You will be able to work beyond normal hours when needs of children and families require this.
You must be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified timeframe.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
