Social Work Services is looking to recruit to the post of Social Worker within the Criminal Justice Sector. Applicants must possess a Diploma in Social Work (or Social Work equivalent). This job offers a crucial role in safeguarding communities and reducing offending within the community. Working with often very vulnerable individuals with complex needs, we require to work effectively across the Glasgow Health & Social Care Partnership in order to secure better and positive outcomes for individuals subject to statutory orders. We work with a broad range of partners within justice services including Police Scotland, Court, Health and voluntary services with the aim being to promote and engage clients in effective offence focused work, preventative and recovery supports and early interventions to reduce the risk of re-offending.
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
The appointment is subject to your obtaining registration with the Scottish Social Services Council, and if you are not already registered this must be completed within 6 months of appointment. Continued registration is an essential requirement of your employment.
