An opportunity has arisen for a 29 hour, permanent, Social Worker post in Perth City Children & Families Fieldwork Team. The successful candidate will preferably have experience in working in a statutory childcare team.
The role will require you to hold a caseload which could vary from child protection, Looked After Children both at home and away from home. You will be responsible for accurate and up to date case recording, carrying out comprehensive assessments and a variety of report writing, which you will present at Children’s Hearing, Child Protection Case Conferences and LAC Reviews. You will liaise with partner agencies to identify and implement robust child plans to meet the needs of children & young people.

You will be required to demonstrate experience and knowledge of working with current social work legislation, regulations and standards.
You will be able to demonstrate experience of multi-disciplinary working and be committed to working closely with colleagues from other disciplines. You will also be able to evidence sound/robust assessment of need and risk, preferably having experience of undertaking comprehensive assessments or have transferable skills.
You must be able to work effectively within a team and demonstrate a commitment to improve current service provision. You will be a confident communicator, both written and verbally and have good IT skills and be flexible to meet the demands of this post.
You will have a qualification of a Degree in Social Work, or currently in your final year of gaining a social work qualification. You must demonstrate continued professional development. You must be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council.

This post may be suitable for candidates who have recently completed their Social Work Degree but have not yet graduated. In this circumstance, a Social Work Assistant contract will be offered until you receive your qualifying certificate and are eligible to register with the SSSC as a Social Worker.
