Community Justice Social Worker (Community Justice)
Grindlay Street Social Work Centre

Salary: £34,057 – £40,257 per year
Hours: 36 per week

We have a number of vacancies across Edinburgh’s Criminal Justice Services for qualified social workers. This includes within generic community intervention teams and specialist teams including: Domestic Abuse Services and the Drug Treatment and Testing Order team.

The role would include statutory supervision of offenders. The post holder will undertake a wide range of tasks including:

• Court assessment and report writing
• Case management of statutory Orders
• Risk assessment managemen
• Utilise a range of evidence based approaches to support desistence, including and groupwork.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range. For roles in grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals.
