£31,925 – £34,083 (30 Hours per week)

An opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker to join the Perth City South team. The successful candidate will preferably have experience of working in a statutory child care team.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated social worker to join our team who has a genuine interest in supporting children and their families.  It is important that you display sensitivity, respectfulness, patience and compassion and respect confidentiality always.

You will be well organised, can prioritise your workload and manage competing demands.

You will also be an effective communicator and be able to work collaboratively with key partners, children, and their families. 

You will be able to demonstrate high standards in written reports and have a clear understanding of the needs of vulnerable children and families.

You must have a recognised qualification in Social Work.

You must be registered as a Social Worker with the SSSC.

You must have a full, valid, UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a number of locations throughout the Perth & Kinross Council area. 

The Individual

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Social Worker who is confident in assessing risks and needs of children, young people and their families.

The skill to write clear and analytical assessment is desirable as the post requires the post holder to present assessment reports to a number of panels e.g. Children’s Hearings, Child Protection Case Conferences, looked after reviews and child’s plan meetings.

You should be a good team player and able to represent the service in multi disciplinary teams.
