A fixed term vacancy until October 2022 has arisen for a part time Social Worker in Perth City and Highland, Children and Families Team. The team covers a large area comprising of Perth City and rural Highland Perthshire. The successful candidate will preferably have experience in working in a statutory childcare team.
The role will require you to hold a varied caseload including Child Protection, Looked After Children, Section 22 support and assessment of children, young people, and their families. The role involves writing a variety of reports and liaising with partner agencies to identify and meet need through the Child’s plan. You will be expected to work in line with the principles of ‘Getting it Right fir Every Child’ putting interagency working at the forefront of your practice.
Ongoing professional development relating to the role will be offered.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated social worker to join our team who has a genuine interest in supporting children and their families. It is important that you display sensitivity, respectfulness, patience and compassion and respect confidentiality always.
You will be well organised, can prioritise your workload and manage competing demands.
You will also be an effective communicator and be able to work collaboratively with key partners, children, and their families.
You will be able to demonstrate high standards in written reports and have a clear understanding of the needs of vulnerable children and families.
You must have a recognised qualification in Social Work.
You must be registered as a Social Worker with the SSSC.
You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
This post may be suitable for candidates who have recently completed their social work degree but have not yet graduated. In this circumstance, a social work assistant contract will be offered until you receive your qualifying certificate and are eligible to register with the SSSC as a Social Worker.
