An opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker post in Perth City, Children & Families Team. The successful candidate will preferably have experience in working in a statutory child care team.
The role will require you to hold a caseload which could vary from Child Protection, Looked After Children, Section 22 support and assessments of children young people and their families. This role involves writing a variety of reports and liaising with partner agencies to identify and meet need through the Child’s Plan.
We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Social Worker who is confident in assessing risks and needs of children, young people and their families. The skill to write clear and analytical assessment is desirable as the post requires the post holder to present assessment reports to a number of panels e.g. Children’s Hearings, Child Protection Case Conferences, Looked After Reviews and Child’s Plan meetings. The worker should be a good team player and able to represent the service within multi-disciplinary teams.
You will be a qualified Social Worker with experience in child care social work. You will be well-organised, able to prioritise and manage competing demands, assertive and clear in your communication. You will be able to demonstrate high standards in written reports and have a clear understanding of the needs of vulnerable children and families. You will have a commitment to continuous professional development and have, or be willing to work towards, your Graduate Certificate in Child Welfare and Protection.
