Social Work – City Hospital, Birmingham (Adults) required for immediate long-term contract.

Birmingham City Council are seeking an experienced Social Worker who is passionate about Adult social work. Due to an internal promotion, Birmingham City Council are looking to recruit a Qualified Social worker to work within the Acute City Hospital site.
Your new role
Adults Social Worker with experience in keeping and maintaining accurate records, making sure any assessment statuses, admissions and discharges are captured correctly and initial assessments. You will have excellent communication skills and feel comfortable to pick up new and existing complex cases. It is imperative that you have an in depth understanding of the discharge assessment model, support planning, Mental Capacity Act, DoLs and be able to manage any challenges, with appropriate methods which will vary from case to case.
The contract is initially for 6months, with potential to extend. Working hours are from 8.45 – 5.15pm Mon – Fri, 35 hrs per week. Due to COVID 19, there is flexibility to work 2-3 days remotely. You will be part of a strong team of 10 QSW and 3 SPD’s, along with SCF and student Social workers.
What you’ll need to succeed
Previous direct experience of delivering social work to Adult Service users is essential. You must also have knowledge of key legislation, able to produce reports and maintain records. To be successful you will require a Social Work qualification (BA Social Work, CQSW, DipSW, CSS or CCETSW approved equivalent). It is also essential that you have a current professional registration with the HCPC and have a minimum of 2 year’s experience working with adults in a Social Work position within the last 2 years.
