East Lothian Children’s Services has an exciting opportunity for a social worker to join the Disability Team. The team consists of a team leader, 2 senior practitioners, 2.5 social workers, 1.5 family support workers and has dedicated administrative support.
The Disability Team provides a social work service to children and young people with complex
and enduring disabilities and their families across East Lothian. The team also provides a family based respite service – Share the Care – to children, young people and their families.
We are looking to recruit a team member who has knowledge and experience of working with children and young people with disabilities and their families and who has experience of working with complex situations and who can work under pressure.
Applicants should have a sound value base, excellent communication and report writing skills and a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of children and families social work role and responsibilities.
We are particularly looking to recruit an applicant who has recent experience in a children and families setting and in a children’s disability team.
This is a part time post with days likely to include Thursday and Friday.
