You will be based in one of our busy practice teams promoting and protecting the wellbeing of vulnerable children and their families. These teams include two Children and families practice teams which incorporate our Throughcare and Aftercare provision, as well as our Duty and Child Protection Team, which deals with all initial assessments. We have a number of vacancies and would therefore welcome applicants with varying degrees of experience children and families social work.
We offer a supportive working environment with induction for new staff, regular planned supervision, a controlled workload and a professional development plan with varied training opportunities.
Degree in social work or equivalent is essential.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from commencement in this post to register with the SSSC.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
