Job Purpose:
Family Team
To provide a Social Work Service to children, families, and other carers. This will include services to looked after children and those on the Child Protection Register. Provide such services as required as a member of a local Family Team, in the context of the Practice Model. The Family Team is multi-disciplinary and provides universal and additional health, social care, and child protection services.
Scottish Child Interview Model
To work as part of a team of forensically trained interviewers, in partnership with colleagues in the police, to undertake interviews of children using the Scottish child interview model to ensure that the best quality evidence is produced, to ensure the protection of the child and ensure the quality of interventions and support are not compromised and are consistent in improving outcomes for children and their families who are subject to child protection processes. This will involve ensuring a trauma recovery support approach is built into the process from the point of disclosure for children.
The postholder will carry an allocated case load within the Nairn Family Team which will reflect the need to have dedicated time for SCIM training, interviews, and ongoing evaluation.

You should be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council on the ‘Social Worker’ part of the Register and as such hold a qualification that is recognised by the SSSC as being equivalent to the Diploma in Social Work (DipSW).
Have significant experience of child protection practice (A minimum of 2 years post qualifying child protection experience).
Commit to remaining in the role for a minimum period of 3 years.
