Three full time permanent vacancies have arisen for qualified social worker within West
Dunbartonshire HSCP Children & Families Team (Over 12’s Team).
West Dunbartonshire is an area with high levels of poverty and deprivation; parental substance misuse, poor mental health and high levels of domestic abuse are key areas of concern. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of the current legislative framework and national policy agenda, placing this in the context of an area of significant deprivation across the authority.
The successful candidate will be provided with a range of opportunities including working with children looked after at home, looked after away from home, child protection, vulnerable young people at risk of exploitation, young people displaying a range of problematic behaviours and kinship care.
The ability to work effectively with a range of key partners in child and adult services, including Health, Education and Police Scotland will be a key skill, as will prioritising a caseload alongside other commitments.
The successful candidate will be offered regular supervision, training and other development opportunities.
A Degree in Social Work, DipSW or CQSW is essential. Previous experience is preferable but not essential.
