18 hours per week, salary pro rata to hours per week.
You will be based in the Child Disability Service where commitment and energy are essential to the delivery of a high quality service. You will be part of a supportive busy team, which delivers statutory services to children/young people with disability and their families.
You will be working with children/young people with a range of disabilities and their families. You will undertake assessments of need such as S23 and S24 assessments, and where appropriate develop care plans to meet identified need and review these plans. You will also carry out all other statutory duties associated with the post including child protection and completion of reports for the children’s hearing. Key to this process is working in partnership with service users and other professionals.

A professional Social Work qualification and registration with SSSC are essential. We welcome applications from experienced workers as well as newly qualified social workers. Successful applicants for this post will be subject to checks via the PVG scheme. Previous experience of working in a children and families local authority post and of working with children with disabilities would be desirable as would an understanding of the self directed support act.
