This 23 month Children’s Rights post is crucial in ensuring that PKC meets it’s obligations under the requirements of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) it will do this through playing a critical role in helping children and young people understand and experience their rights. This post will not only promote these rights and their implications to PKC staff, external agencies and organisations, parents and young people but will also ensure young people should be involved in decisions that affect them.
Working with our MSYP’s and local youth forums the post will ensure that young people’s rights are upheld and that the young persons voice is heard.
The post will be Perth and Kinross wide and will involve working with a number of statutory and third sector partners gathering the opinions and thoughts of young people. This post will also be integral in supporting Perth and Kinross’s strategy for young people.
Perth and Kinross Council is looking for a qualified individual who is motivated with a flexible working approach. A proactive person that can demonstrate persistence towards inspiring young people.
The successful applicant will be qualified with a Social Work degree and have the knowledge and commitment to working with young people and be able to work alongside them to set goals, ensure their delivery and have the ability to evaluate and report on these.
This post may be suitable for candidates who have recently completed their Social Work Degree but have not yet graduated. In this circumstance, a Social Work Assistant or Senior Social Care Officer contract will be offered until you receive your qualifying certificate and are eligible to register with the SSSC as a Social Worker.
