Your new role
Southend Hospital is looking for a dynamic social worker with the necessary skills, experience and vision to work within a busy social work team at based at the hospital. This role is to support safe and effective discharge planning for Adults within the hospital environment.
You must be able to work within a pressurised environment and be flexible with working to ensure the core hours are covered.
The hours for this position are Monday – Friday (37 hours per week).
This post is to support with discharge planning, requiring attention to a strengths based approach. If you are a person who is passionate and highly motivated about developing services within a health and social care perspective we want to hear from you.
In return the team will offer professional supervision; appraisal and regular training.
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful in this position you must be HCPC qualified and be at least 2 years post qualified as a social worker.
You will ideally have experience in working within a local authority setting and be able to demonstrate your commitment to effective team working. As an experienced social worker you will have: – excellent communication skills; be proficient with using various computer systems and programmes; a good manager of time and be able to work under pressure working experience of knowledge of working with adults and older people; experience of safeguarding; and experience of undertaking Mental Capacity Act assessments.
