This is an opportunity to join our Adult Support and Protection Team, working across adult health & social care.
Your workload will include responding to situations where an adult may be at risk of harm, assessing the information available and making decisions based on that assessment in collaboration with the multiagency professionals involved.
You will have an excellent working knowledge and understanding of Adult Support and Protection guidelines, legislation and processes.
You will also have knowledge of outcome focussed assessments, support planning and risk management. You will have experience of working in a relevant setting across Adult and Older People Services and have a working knowledge of professional practice models and standards.
The post requires good organisational skills and interpersonal skills plus the ability to manage & prioritise a number of competing demands. You will be skilled in assessing and analysing situations in order to make clear and sound decisions & be a good problem solver.
The post involves partnership working with service users, carers, family members, health & social work colleagues as well as other professionals & external agencies as required.
The essential qualifications for this post are a degree or Diploma in Social Work. Registration with the SSSC as a Social Worker is essential. You must be at least 1 year post registration and have undertaken or intend to undertake council officer training. The ability to travel throughout Midlothian is a requirement.

Based on you working 36 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £34,376.18 per annum.
