Social Work Assistant (Kinship Support Team) 
The Drumbrae Library Hub

Salary: £24,890 – £28,854 per year
Hours: 36 per week

Family Based Care are looing to appoint two highly motivated Social Work Assistants within the Kinship Team. You will be responsible for carrying a caseload and providing support to kinship families to ensure the wellbeing of the children and young people they care for alongside promoting the wellbeing of kinship carers.

You will help shape and implement service improvements to ensure Kinship Carers and the young people they look after, receive the highest standard of care. This includes delivering group work and training to Kinship Carers and young people.

This post requires experience of direct work with children and their families and an understanding of the issues affecting them. It requires good communication and advocacy skills, the ability to work in partnership with service users and professionals, to work as a member of a team, and a willingness to develop your own learning and skills.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.  Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
