A vacancy for a Social Work Assistant has arisen within the St Andrews Older People Team.
The successful candidate will work in a busy older people’s team and will carry a varied caseload, working with adults over the age of 65 years, with a range of needs. This includes those with physical disabilities, mental health difficulties and sensory impairment.
A relevant qualification such as SVQ 3/HNC or equivalent is desirable. It is expected however, that candidates will have experience of working within a similar setting and have knowledge of relevant guidelines and information sharing protocols. They should have the ability to work creatively and, in a solution-focused way. In addition to this, they must be a team player and demonstrate excellent communication skills.
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out a range of assessment and care management tasks including:
Before confirming appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
Educated to SCQF Level 7,
Considerable experience of working within a relevant setting,
Experience of joint working,
Knowledge of service policies and procedures and resources,
Ability to analyse information and problem solve,
Report writing skills,
Understanding of the value of performance management/monitoring in Social Work,
Ability to travel throughout Fife.
