Social Care Workforce Officer, Full Time, Adult Care
Southend Council are looking to appoint a permanent full time Social Care Workforce Officer.
Within this position, hybrid working opportunities are available, however a flexible approach is needed as you will be required to be on site and to travel around the borough.
The aim of a Social Care Workforce Officer is to support social care workforce and market development by delivering projects and work with key stakeholders (such as care workers, social care providers, partner organisations and more) to improve the recruitment and retention of social care staff in the local care market in Southend-on-Sea.
One of the key objectives of the Social Care Workforce Officer officer is to support more people to start or sustain their career in Social Care (Care Homes, Home Care, Supported Accommodation), who may be new to the sector, or experienced in the sector but have recently left an employer or been made redundant. Another is to administrate initiatives that support the career development and satisfaction of social care staff.
This will be achieved through different projects and workstreams that are designed, managed and delivered by the officer, with the support and guidance of commissioning colleagues.
What you’ll need to succeed
The ideal candidate for this position will need to be passionate about adult social care, especially for those that work for or receive care from care organisations. They will have a good knowledge of how the sector operates and some of the key challenges it is currently facing both nationally and locally.
To succeed in the role the candidate must be an extremely organised and creative individual, with experience in managing and delivering projects to a tight timeline.
The candidate must be comfortable co-ordinating and engaging with a variety of people and stakeholders of all types to achieve the best outcomes. They must also have competent ICT skills including the creation and development of spreadsheets and use of Microsoft Office. They must have the ability to use, or quickly learn to use, ICT processes in order to be able to update webpages or social media, and use basic CRM systems.
The ideal candidate is able to confidently lead a project, whilst researching and expanding their knowledge base.
