£31,942 – £32,642 / £33,448 – £35,910
£16.56 – £16.92 / £17.34 – £18.61 per hour
The above amounts include shift allowance and Distant Islands Allowance
You will be required to carry out tasks and duties delegated by senior staff in an effective and efficient manner, ensuring at all times the social and domestic care needs of service users.
You will observe the principles of confidentiality in all aspects of practice and ensure the safety and comfort of service users, attending to their general care and wellbeing, including assisting with personal care in keeping with the standards of care required by the Care Inspectorate.
Previous experience in social care is essential.
To be appointed at Grade E:
You should hold an SVQ 2, or equivalent level qualification, in Social Care and be able to achieve an SVQ 3 in Social Care, or other relevant qualification, to enable registration with the SSSC, as a Practitioner in a Care Home Service for Adults, within 5 years of appointment.
To be appointed at or progress to Grade F:
You should hold an SVQ 3 in Social Care or other relevant qualification to enable registration with the SSSC as a Practitioner in a Care Home Service for Adults.
The successful applicant is required to register with the SSSC within 6 months of appointment.
This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with adults.
You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
