Social Care Officer – Covid Response Contract

15x Social care officers working with vulnerable people and families, affected by Covid for a 3 month contract

We’re looking for 15 x Social Care Officers for the Covid Response Team for a 3 month contract. WORKING FROM HOME

Your new role
As a call handler you will take and receive calls from vulnerable people and families affected by the pandemic throughout the winter period where alternative sources of assistance may be unavailable. Your role will be liaising with other parts of the organisation, families and vulnerable adults daily via telephone establishing their basic needs. You will be a decision maker when assessing eligibility for grants etc. You will be assessing physical, psychological, educational and employment needs, taking into consideration all aspects of the home and local environment, social activities and family relationships.

What you’ll need to succeed
You will come from a social care or social housing work background
Standard DBS is required for this role
Experience of eligibility testing would be advantageous.
Experience of having difficult conversations and dealing with challenges, whilst at the same time being sympathetic is highly recommended
You will have effective communication skills both written and verbal as you will be required to interact with a range of people e.g. service users, internal colleagues, senior managers and stakeholders

What you’ll get in return
37 hours across Monday – Friday
£12.95 per hour
Full training and induction will be provided
Work Computer will be provided
You will be able to claim back any call costs
