An exciting opportunity has arisen within our team at Dalweem Care Home which is a service which provides a high level of care to older people with a variety of care needs whether they be physical health needs, mental health needs or both. Dalweem provides permanent and respite care as part of the service which is provided by our highly trained and professional staff, so why don’t you apply and be part of our team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work part of a positive team to deliver high standards of care and support to service users, working closely with their carers and other professionals to achieve desired personal outcomes. We operate a 12 hour shift pattern; you will work 24 hrs per week, 4 weeks of day shift and 2 weeks of night shift.

As a Social Care Officer you will be expected to undertake a Keyworker Role as well as having a great opportunity to take on a Champion Role as this will progress your knowledge and skills and ongoing personal development. For staff who have completed their SVQ level 3 there is also a chance to upskill by covering some duty shifts in the office if this is something that the successful candidate would be interested in. We require a truly caring person with a good sense of humour who can build and maintain a good rapport with the residents and their families of those in your care. This is an exciting opportunity for those who enjoy going that extra mile and who are friendly and enthusiastic about caring for others and can lead by example. A genuine interest in the health and wellbeing of vulnerable people is essential. The successful candidate should have excellent communication skills and appreciate the needs, wishes and aspirations of older people and how best to support them and their carer’s in the care home setting. You will be required to register with the SSSC as a Practitioner in a Care Home service, therefore an SVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable or a willingness to work towards this qualification.
