Two post being recruited for:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an two experienced individuals to join the Sustainable Housing on Release for Everyone (SHORE) team within Hamilton.
As a Housing Officer you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of housing services to our customers therefore, you should have experience of working within a housing related environment and have an understanding of current issues and legislation in relation to homelessness, allocations, estate management, rent recovery and dealing with anti- social behaviour.
This post will be involved in providing face to face housing options advice to prisoners within HMP Barlinnie and HMP Addiewell, ensuring tenancy sustainment where possible or developing housing plans to prevent homelessness. The Housing Officer will require to undertake training within the prison establishments which will include personal protection training. The Housing Officer will then provide housing options casework and plan for a positive housing outcome.
This is a developing role and will require an individual with excellent communication skills and ability to network with key partners. Involvement with other prison establishments is likely to be required, however due to the geographical nature this may be by telephone.
You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance of policy and procedures by monitoring and auditing information and ensuring that complaints are processed according to standards.
Excellent IT skills are required as well as the ability to organise and prioritise workload in an effective way and to respond and adapt to changing priorities required in delivering a quality service. You should possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to liaise effectively with a variety of agencies.

You will be eligible to participate in South Lanarkshire Council’s Car Pool Scheme as it would be advantageous to have access to a vehicle for business purposes if required to travel to alternative locations.
