The aim of Social Work Resources is to promote social welfare and provide effective care and support to meet the needs of vulnerable people in South Lanarkshire.In partnership with community planning partners, voluntary and independent provider organisations, we offer a range of services designed to enable, support, improve and protect the health and social care of people using our services.
Social Work Resources have been redesigning elements of the delivery of its Unpaid Work service. The unpaid work service works with and monitors those who are subject to a Court Disposal of a Community Payback Order (Unpaid Work & Other Activity Requirement) or a Fiscal Work Orders and are undertaking unpaid work in the community.
South Lanarkshire Council Justice Services are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to be part of our Unpaid Work Placement Co-ordinator team.
The Placement Co-ordinator is a member of a team that focuses on assisting the individual to complete their Community Payback Order successfully along with other members in the team. The Placement Co-ordinator will work alongside other colleagues and will be expected to ensure services are professional, are of high standards and are in line with National Objectives and Standards. As well as getting individuals to ‘pay back’ to their communities the goal is to reduce offending, achieve positive outcomes and improve community safety. The Placement Co-ordinator is responsible for the management of the infrastructure of unpaid work.
You will organise appropriate group and individual placements for individuals and undertake site visits to ensure quality control and adherence to council policies and procedures. Work placements will be developed by linking in with communities and voluntary organisations to ensure the work undertaken is of value to our local communities. The Placement Co-ordinator will be responsible for the health and safety assessments of work placements and the maintenance schedule of tools and plant machinery. The Placement Co-ordinator will also have management and development responsibility for the supervisors who supervise the placements for the individuals. You will be required to be mobile across various locations within South Lanarkshire and Health and Safety in the workplace experience is desirable.
In addition, you will be required to work a shift pattern which includes regular weekends in accordance with a rota.
