South Lanarkshire Council is an ambitious, high performing organisation with a clear vision and programme of action which is designed to improve the lives and prospects of everyone in South Lanarkshire.
The aim of Social Work Resources is to promote social welfare and provide effective care and support to meet the needs of vulnerable people in South Lanarkshire.
In partnership with community planning partners, voluntary and independent provider organisations, we offer a range of services designed to enable, support, improve and protect the health and social care of people using our services.
You will be part of the Children and Justice Services Management Team and will be responsible for the management of a team of Children and Justice Service’s Social Work staff to provide a direct Social Work Service and provide professional support and supervision to staff. The service is an intensive service to children under 12 years of age with the use of appropriate parenting programmes and interventions. The Team leader will be under the supervision of the Field Work Manager. The main focus of the Under 12’s service will be to provide a high level of support to children and families at risk of Child Protection registration or where de-registration is being considered. This intensive level of support will empower and enable parents whilst achieving positive destinations for children and their families.
Based within the Under 12’s service base this is an opportunity for either an experienced social worker/practitioner or an existing manager who wishes to extend their knowledge and experience within the team.
The priorities for the manager will be to deliver a quality service through supervision and support of the team and by managing the allocated budget for the service. Regular supervision is provided by the Fieldwork Manager and full support will be offered to the post holder by the Children and Justice Services Management Team.
All applicants must be registered with Scottish Social Services Council and hold a Degree in Social Work qualification or equivalent.
