Job Description

Duration:            1 x  Permanent Post / 2 x Fixed Term 6 months

Work Pattern : 12 hours shifts with 2 hours break 4 days on and 4 days off  

                            2 days 08.00 am – 20.00 pm / 2 nights 20.00 pm – 08.00 am

An excellent  opportunity has arisen for experienced individuals to join our team based currently in Lindsay House, East Kilbride.

As an Accommodation Officer you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of services to homeless households based in the accommodation. You should have similar experience of working in a homelessness service with clients in vulnerable or distressed situations and have an understanding of current issues and legislation in relation to the protection of children and vulnerable adults.

You should be able to demonstrate practical knowledge of a variety of IT packages.

You should also demonstrate the ability to organise and prioritise workload in an effective way and to respond and adapt to changing priorities required in delivering a quality service. You should possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to liaise effectively with a variety of agencies.

The Council is committed to improving the skills and competence of our housing staff. As part of your duties you will be required to undertake further training and/or qualifications, including those introduced by the Scottish Social Services Council for employees working in the housing support sector.

You must also be able to participate in 24 hour shift pattern including nightshift and weekend working. 

This post is excepted in terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 2003.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007.
