Social Work Resources
Various locations across South Lanarkshire
Shifts to be worked in accordance with a roster including evenings and weekends:
Fixed Term: 2 years
Working in Social Care is a career where the rewards of helping vulnerable people and making a difference to their lives are an everyday event. If you are interested in working with people, helping them to enjoy a better quality of life, then the Social Care Apprenticeship Programme could be for you.
Social Work Resources are looking to recruit people to work in our Residential Care Units. The apprentices will work alongside experienced staff and will receive regular training. Apprentices will be contracted for 24 months and work towards SVQ in Social Services & Heath Care Level 2 or Level 3.
Apprentices will be eligible to apply for posts within Social Work resources during their training to secure a career in the wider Social Work Service.
At South Lanarkshire Council we are ambitious about diversity and inclusion and want our organisation to reflect the people of South Lanarkshire. We welcome applications from everyone who meets the criteria. However, as we do not have many disabled, care experienced, or ethnic minority employees, we would particularly welcome applications from these groups.
Care experienced means you are or were formally looked after by a local authority, in the family home (with support from social services or a social worker) or elsewhere, for example, in foster care, residential/secure care, or kinship care (with family friends or relatives).
If you are interested in a role within care you should try SSSC resource called ‘A Question of Care’ which will help you think about the type of work involved and give you feedback on your responses to typical situations faced in working life. You can access the resource at www.aquestionofcare.org.uk
Internal applicants are advised these are temporary positions for a period of up to 2 years. Prior to making your application, please discuss your potential application with your current Line Manager. In the event that you are being considered for this post, your release to undertake this internal fixed term opportunity would need to be agreed in advance and managed by the service/s or resource/s.
Delivering a Fairer Future – Under the Council’s positive action programme, applications for this post are particularly encouraged from male applicants
