This is an exciting time to join the Sheltered Housing team in Aberdeenshire, the Sheltered Housing service is going through transformational change to modernize the services it provides and is looking for a dynamic individual to support and lead this change within a defined geographical area.

As a Sheltered Housing Coordinator within the Aberdeenshire Council housing department, you will work alongside a team of housing professionals, have lead responsibility for the H&S requirements within a portfolio of Sheltered Housing complexes and as a registered Supervisor with the Scottish Social Service Council oversee the delivery of low-level housing support.
You will be involved in managing a dispersed team of Sheltered Housing Officers who provide support and assist Sheltered Housing tenants to maintain their tenancy and live independently while promoting their rights, autonomy, and choices.
As an employer, Aberdeenshire Council will provide, and fund all required training including facilitation and attainment of a SVQ Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF level 7 qualification.? You will also be provided with the required training and ICT equipment to fulfil the role.
The post involves working 36.25 hours per week, a hybrid approach to working is available, when you are not out attending to tasks within Sheltered Housing complexes, home working is an option or you can work from a Sheltered Housing complex near to your home, so the base can be negotiated it doesn’t have to be Maud. A flexible approach with occasional out of hours and weekend work is required, due to sporadic system faults and the need to ensure the H&S of buildings is maintained and tenants’ wellbeing is checked
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where applicable, this post also requires an Overseas Criminal Record Check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
