Stirling Justice Service Social Work is currently recruiting a sessional Justice Service Unpaid Work Supervisor role to assist in the delivery of Unpaid Work Services within the team.
The post holder will therefore work as part of a busy team to help organise and manage those attending unpaid work to oversee the completion of unpaid work hours imposed by the Court. The post holder will also oversee the completion of community projects designed to benefit the local community.
The successful candidate will be required to work on a sessional basis, including weekend work to cover existing staff leave and to support the service during periods of increased demand. Given the nature of the post, some flexibility is required to support the needs of the service. However, in return, the post offers the successful candidate an opportunity to develop their skills and experience in this area of work, and may also suit a candidate looking to supplement their existing working arrangements.
Stirling Justice Service is committed to delivering a range of community sentences. Of the 9 requirements a Court can impose when sentencing an offender to a Community Payback Order, ‘unpaid work’ is one of the most commonly used by the Courts across Scotland and is often used as a direct alternative to custody.
We encourage offenders to develop practical and social skills as part of their sentence and through this, to develop personal responsibility for their actions, enhance their employability and to improve their relationship with their communities.
The successful candidate will be subject to a Basic Disclosure check. If your application is progressed after the interview, you will be invited to complete the application and have your details verified.
It is Stirling Counciol’s policy to ask that you pay for this.
