Join a team full of individuals who are passionate about the well-being and development of children and young people who have complex needs, experienced abuse, neglect and/or chaotic and traumatic situations. The company aims to work therapeutically with these children to enable them to become a more integrated part of the community. These homes act as the stepping-stone for the children to move on to family-based placements so it’s extremely important that these children receive specialised professional support in learning how to cope with the pressures and demands of day-to-day living. The home you will be working in contains 4-6 children ages between 13-16 years old.

Your new role
The Service Manager is accountable for delivering high quality care, focused on obtaining the best outcomes for each child and young person resident within the Children’s Home. You will demonstrate practical leadership in childcare, both in day-to-day management matters and in planning for developments within the Home. You will proactively contribute to continuous improvement, building on the principles and practices existing within our company, for example the Statement of Purpose in accordance with The Children’s Home Regulations 2015 and quality standards.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Experience working with children and young people with emotional backgrounds.
• Be willing to undertake the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
• Achieved ‘good’ Ofsted inspections.
• You will be happy to undertake therapeutic training.
• Specialist knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Children’s Act 1989 and Care Standards Act 2000
• NVQ level 3 Diploma Health and Social Care
• Excellent leadership and staff supervision skills
• Experience managing budgets and rotas.
