Senior Support Workers (Extra Care Housing)
£23,576 – £24,648 pa (pro rata) Depending on qualifications
Scottish Borders: Galashiels
Eildon Housing has built a strong reputation and at the heart of our service is a deep commitment to excellence and the provision of high-quality affordable homes, as well as care and support services. We have achieved an impressive level of growth and quality service provision because we have an impressive collection of talented people working with us. Now we need to add to that list – and that’s where you come in.
Our Senior Support Workers will play an important role in the team at Wilkie Gardens in Galashiels, Eildon’s new and exciting Extra Care Housing (ECH) service for older people which is due to be completed in late summer and operational from October 2021. We will have varying shift patterns, over 7-days, so when submitting your application let us know how many hours you would prefer to work, and we can discuss this during the interview process.
To ensure that tenants are provided with the means to maintain independent tenancies in a friendly and safe environment, with a vibrant social hub, you should have experience of supporting older people living within their own home, ideally in a supported housing environment. Providing first line-management of Support Workers you will supervise care practice by working alongside the Support Workers to provide practical support and advice. In the absence of the ECH Manager you will ensure the smooth management of the extra care service which includes oversight of tenancy management and the meals service.
You should ideally have an SVQ4 in Health and Social Care. You will need good ICT skills and be able to use MS Office 365 as well as care, staff, and housing management software, with a positive approach to learn and use new tools as they become available. Most importantly you should be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of Eildon’s vision and values.
In return Eildon offer a competitive reward package and a range of benefits. This role requires membership of the Disclosure Scotland PVG Scheme and SSSC Registration.
If you would like to discuss this opportunity further, please contact our Care Services Manager, Agnes Bell, on 01750 724882
