Senior Support Co-ordinator (Fixed Term)
£16,555 – £17,825.50
You will work 21 hours per week 52.14 weeks per year, based at the Activity and Resource Centre.
Supporting Adults with a Learning Disability.
The Post holder will contribute to the formal assessment of complex needs or service requirements and monitoring the quality and delivery of the service.
The Post Holder will supervise and line manage a team of Support Coordinators/Link Workers to organise, coordinate and implement support for the day service. You will have responsibility of supporting the Manager in ensuring that the service operates successfully and that the best possible care is provided to our supported individuals.
The Senior Support Coordinator will provide management and leadership to a team of Support Coordinators and Link Workers.
They will be responsible for ensuring all current and newly referred individuals are properly assessed and that high quality, person-centred support is provided for all supported individuals.
They will ensure support teams have the skills and competencies required and will provide a developmental focus for practice.
The Senior Support Coordinator will support the Manager to ensure that all regulatory and contractual standards are met and exceeded.
The Senior Support Coordinator will act as an ambassador for the service ensuring that SARC is appropriately represented and working in effective partnership with key local service providers, including local NHS bodies and Social Work departments.
The Senior Support Coordinator will ensure supported individuals access activities suited to their personal needs, plans and outcomes. These supports may include personal skills development in relation to promoting independence, Leisure and recreation, health and wellbeing.
The Senior Support Coordinator will contribute to the development of the Service and undertake learning and development which will contribute to effective service delivery.
The Senior Support Coordinator will deputise for the Manager as required or as directed and may be required to undertake additional activities such as attendance at conferences and involvement in project groups to further individual and organisational development.
The post activities listed are not exhaustive and may be added to or amended consistent with the job purpose.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
This post is fixed term until 31st of March 2022.
