Following a 4 week rota as follows:
WEEK 1 THU 14.00 -21.30, SAT 14.-21.30, SUN 07.00 – 14.30
WEEK 2 THU 14.00 -21.30, FRI 07.00 -14.30
WEEK 3 THU 14.00 -21.30, SAT 07.00 -14.30, SUN 14.00 -21.30
WEEK 4 THU 14.00- 21.30, FRI 14.00 -21.30
Must have an understanding of dementia and the elderly. Knowledge of medication ordering and administration.
Knowledge of supervision / mentoring of staff.
To assist in the management of the Residential Unit and contribute to the development and delivery of a high quality service to older people requiring residential care, in accordance with the values and principles of the National Care Standards, and within the policies and procedures of the Council.

Hold an SVQ Level 3 and an HNC in Social Services (or equivalent) and be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience with the PDA health & Social Care Supervision SCQF Level 7 (or equivalent supervisory qualification which meets the professional registration requirements of SSSC or hold an SVQ Level 3 and a commitment to achieve an HNC in Social Services and the PDA Health and Social Care Supervision SCQF Level 7 (or equivalent) in the first period of registration to meet the SSSC Registration requirements.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
