An opportunity has arisen for a full time Senior Practitioner with a Social Work background to work in the Duty Response and Rehabilitation Team (DRRT).
The DRRT is a team of Social Workers and Community Care Workers dealing with Crisis Intervention, Hospital Discharge and a wide range of other short term intervention work.
The Senior Practitioner role is to work closely with other Senior Practitioner to lead the team to fulfil their role. A key role is to manage all work coming in to adult social care, direct it to other teams where appropriate and allocate and supervise work that falls within the remit of the team.
There is a high volume of work in this area so the ability to make decisions quickly is required. The Senior Practitioner is required to lead and support team members particularly in managing risk.
This post requires expertise in this area not only an advanced level of decision making but a broad range of knowledge of services and a sound competence in procedures in order to deal with work efficiently and effectively.
The role also involves working alongside a variety of other organisations and health professionals so a broad knowledge and understanding of services is required. There will be the opportunity to contribute to developing the service as East Lothian continues to develop the Integration of Health and Social Care.
To provide an advanced level of practice that ensures appropriate services are provided to meet client needs within the department’s statutory obligations and departmental policies and procedures.
