Senior Occupational Therapist
Salary: £42,717 – £50,550 (pro rata for part time)
Hours: 32 per week
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to lead the Children & Families Occupational Therapy team. The service is city wide covering all areas of Edinburgh.
Our team focuses on a child’s home and school environments to assess where potential changes can improve participation and wellbeing. We work in partnership with the child, their parents, caregivers, and other professionals to support the child within their environments. Our aim is to improve quality of life, reduce risk, increase a child’s independence wherever possible while supporting the family by providing equipment and/or adaptations at home and school.
The successful candidate will ensure that a high quality of occupational therapy practice for children’s equipment and adaptations, is provided and maintained, and that appropriate services are provided to meet children and young people’s needs within the Department’s statutory obligations and departmental policies and procedures.
The successful candidate will provide remote, professional support, supervision and leadership to a team of occupational therapists, whilst maintaining a direct involvement in occupational therapy practice. They will also ensure that the team is responsive and needs led. The team work remotely from home, but may return to an hybrid arrangement/office environment. Applicants should therefore be flexible to adapt their work location as necessary.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
