To assist the Temporary Accommodation Co-ordinator to provide and develop a high quality, efficient and effective Hostel Support service and assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of the key objectives in relation to those identified within the Housing Service Improvement Plan and the East Ayrshire Community Plan. To manage the day-to-day operations of the Hostel Support service for people experiencing homelessness within East Ayrshire. To assist the Temporary Accommodation Co-ordinator to develop and achieve an effective performance culture and supervise, support and develop staff within the Hostel Support service. To provide a safe and secure environment to service users within the hostel, adhering to legislative requirements in respect of Houses in Multiple Occupation and Health and Safety policies. To maintain good communications and liaise with partner agencies to ensure a full range of customer requirements is provided including adequate support to residents in temporary accommodation in line with the SSSC Codes of Practice and the Health and Social Care Standards.
The duties of the post involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants for such posts will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member in respect of Regulated Work with either or both of these groups as appropriate, or if they are already a Scheme member, be subject to a PVG Scheme Record Update, before any formal offer of employment can be made by East Ayrshire Council.
Please note:- PVG members’ records are constantly updated with any new vetting information that arises. Any information that is disclosed on a PVG Scheme Record or Scheme Record Update, if relevant to the post being applied for, will be discussed with the applicant prior to any formal offer of employment being made.
This is a full time permanent post, 35 hours per week.
The work location for the post is St Andrews Hostel, Kilmarnock.
The salary is £31,905 – £34,671
