West Lothian Council in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support has established a locally based cancer information and support service which is located in a number of partnership centres across the county. Open to anyone affected by cancer, the service provides information on the non – clinical aspects of living with and beyond cancer. Key partners are West Lothian Council, Macmillan Cancer Support and NHS Lothian.
The Senior Development Worker will assist in planning, implementing and running this exciting service as well as the new Improving the Cancer Journey service. Another key aspect of this role is to assist with the development of a range of volunteering opportunities across the service and help with the recruitment, training, supervision and on-going volunteer support.
The successful candidate will also work closely with the project Advisory Group and help develop a performance information framework, including impact assessment measures and an effective quality management system.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
