Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker
Your new company
Are you a senior support worker? Or holding a L3 Children and Young Person’s Qualification? If so, my client is a UK wide children’s setting looking for experienced support worker to join their team. They focus on the therapeutic approach to care for and support children aged between 8-18 with emotional behaviour disorder. The home is upbeat, where the children and young people engage in activities both at the home and in the community such as sports, bowling, swimming and walking etc
Shift patterns are based on 2 days in home, and 3 days off with sleeps, and scope for overtime. The right candidate will be looking to continue to team lead or to progress into more senior roles. (My client is looking to interview promptly)
Your new role
To provide outstanding care to children while applying their individual care plans
Engage in fulfilling activities
Liaising with families and support workers to ensure the best possible independent care plans are provided and carried out
Proactive approach to education and activity to improve key skills and self confidence.
Ensure clear communication with individuals via a range of methods and inspire them to carry out any tasks.
Engage in individual’s transitioning periods by nurturing them to become a functioning member of wider society
To make and maintain accurate records of activities and tasks carried out, including any incidents that may occur
Carry out general housekeeping duties, which includes elements of personal care
Apply safeguarding and protection to vulnerable individuals and ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone you support
Comply with GDPR and Health and Safety regulations Shifts are 2 days in, 3 days off.
What you’ll need to succeed
Driving Licence – essential
Experience within the care sector is essential
QCF/ NVQ in Children and Young People or Health & Social Care is essential
Resilience, self-motivation and the enthusiasm to engage with active young people
Excellent communication skills
Ability to navigate a challenging situation
DBS on the Update service is a bonus for swifter onboarding
