Your new role
In your new role you will be working in a Secure children’s home which is a nationwide resource providing both secure and open facilities for young people ages 10-17. Their primary function is to offer protection to young people when they are in a crisis and provide support pathway for the future. You will provide essential support to young people by helping them gain the best outcome; you will support with education, health, independence and build their self-confidence.
As a Secure Care Worker, you must be optimistic and passionate about the care you provide and difference you strive to make and considerate of the struggles they face. The duties are varied and no two days will be the same. The young people are individuals and they all deserve to be treated as such. Specialist training is provided to all new employees as well as close mentoring and supervision, alongside the opportunity to work with a variety of specialist professionals.
What you’ll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability to showcase the organisations core values in their work with the young people, treating everybody with dignity and showing courage in the face of challenging behaviour. The successful candidates will have a Diploma Level 3 in Children and Young People’s workforce or equivalent or a willingness to work towards this, which will be funded via an accredited Apprenticeship.
