Salary: £42,523.91 – £44,458.41 per annum

The post of SDS/Carers Lead Officer provides an exciting and unique opportunity for someone with the right background and level of experience to lead on Self-Directed Support (SDS) and the Carers Act. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading on Scottish Borders Council’s statutory duty to deliver SDS as underpinning statute for the assessment and review process; and to support unpaid carers under the Carers Act. The SDS/Carers Lead Officer has the responsibility for ensuring the council continues to develop and utilize systems, policies and initiatives at a local level through linking in with national directives and strategies. A primary focus of the role is to work collaboratively with key stakeholders to co-produce effective processes and solutions that promote the rights of people using services and their Carers.
Where this is a requirement for the successful candidate to work from home as part of the role you will be provided with the necessary IT equipment by the Council, however, you will be responsible for the provision of any required furniture.
