Children and Family Respite Care

We are currently seeking experienced candidates who have worked/are working within a respite/residential setting supporting children with challenging behaviour. Our client, a well known national charity are passionate about providing the best care and support to children and families who are in crisis and require additional temporary support to enable time to re-build/lead a healthy lifestyle in view to improving their mental health and well-being, Within this service the team of staff are excellent at identifying the needs of individuals and providing a high level of external support which is well recognised.
Your new role
You will be working with and supporting children and families who utilise the respite support support service and working alongside staff to ensure that the children are kept safe and secure at all times. You will be required to monitor and identifying the needs of individuals and respond appropriately in line with company policy and procedures should any emergency situation arise. Some of the children may have underlining additional support needs such as autism, ADHD or a physical disability therefore skilled and trained in manual handling, first aid, and desirably epilepsy.
What you’ll need to succeed
Successful candidates must have a minimum of 6 months experience in the past 2 years
All applicants must be a member of the PVG scheme and an update will be carried out free of charge
You must be SSSC registered
Determination and a positive manner to enable positive outcomes and build report
Reliable and the ability to think on your feet and respond appropriately to difficulty/emotional situations,
