Residential Care Officer
Calton House, Edinburgh
Salary: £28,854 – £34,057 (pro-rata for part time)
Hours: 36 per week (part time hours will be considered)
Working patterns – Early and Late shifts worked over a combined shift pattern. Nightshift pattern, all with additional subject working time payments & unsociable hours allowance.

Calton House is a 5 bedded house that offers young people a safe, nurturing & caring environment. We have recently undergone some changes to the living environment, and you will be joining a dedicated team focussed on making changes to improve outcomes for our young people.
The role of Residential Childcare Officer (RCO) is a key role for supporting, caring and upholding the rights of children and young people, and for them to feel loved, safe & respected. This is an exciting time to join the team as we continue to build on our strong models of care, namely relationship-based practice and the development and implementation of Edinburgh’s Promise
We are seeking child centred, resilient and motivated individuals to positively role model and who can make a difference in the lives of young people. The successful candidates will have experience of supporting young people, have a commitment to promoting children’s rights and advocating for their rights. The candidate should have good communication & interpersonal skills, be reliable and adaptable with a clear focus on improving the outcomes for vulnerable young people.
You should have or be working towards completing SVQ Level 3/HNC or equivalent in Child Care/Social care or related area, or other relevant qualification at SCQF Level 7, or above. There is also a requirement to register with the Scottish Social services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of employment & under the relevant category. We have a mixture of fulltime day and night posts, part time hours will be considered.
