We are looking for a self-motivated and well organised individual to join our busy Community Planning & Engagement Team.
This post will play a significant role in providing information and support to individuals and families arriving in our region through recognised resettlement programmes including Homes for Ukraine/ Supersponsor Scheme, Afghan Citizen Relocation Scheme and the United Kingdom Resettlement Scheme.
The successful postholder will have experience of handling, prioritising and responding to enquiries from clients, internal services and external partner organisations. Experience of working with individuals or groups with protected characteristics is desirable.
You must be educated to SCQF level 6 or the equivalent in a relevant discipline such as Business and Administration, Customer Service or Community Learning and Development.
You will need to be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Knowledge of Records Management, communication and engagement methods and associated barriers is essential as is an understanding of the third sector.
Good interpersonal skills are essential together with a high level of integrity, flexibility and the ability to work on your own initiative.
Due to the needs of the service flexible working can be accommodated Tuesday – Thursday and occasional work in the evening and at weekends will be required.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
Interviews will be held on 10th January.
These post’s are fixed term for up to 12 months.
This post is suitable for secondment, however agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.
