To be responsible for delivering a range of housing and property repairs as directed by the Repairs and Voids Manager. To ensure that all works are delivered to the agreed specification and within target and that resources are deployed in an efficient and effective manner.
To assist the Repairs and Voids Manager as required and be responsible for identifying, and programming complex repairs and putting these on opti-time rather than paper-tickets where possible.
To procure works in accordance with the Council’s Procurement Policy and Financial Regulations and control costs to ensure that all works offer best value.
To act as the Housing Client to protect the customers interests and to ensure achievement of good quality work in liaison with other departments, sections, consultants and contractors.
To promote positive behaviours in the workplace and promote safe working within the Housing Service.
Previous experience in a supervisory/ management capacity of construction/ maintenance operatives.
Understanding of Building Maintenance works
Appropriate construction related (trades/technical) qualification to minimum SVQ Level 3*(or ability to demonstrate equivalent experience)
Good organisational/planning skills
Ability to organise effective workforce deployment
Sound contracts management skills
Good working knowledge of a variety of building trades
You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car/van.
To have sound judgement and work under own initiative
Ability to work to tight deadlines
Good communication skills (written and oral)
Proven track record
Ability to provide effective leadership within a customer focussed environment
Ability to work on site within a construction environment
Willingness to work flexibly and when required, outside office hours
Ability to work in an open plan office
