Enabling people to maximise their independence in relation to their personal and social needs in accordance with the National care standards.
Promoting social inclusion by working with people to maximise their personal independence, health and wellbeing to access opportunities in their local community.
Undertake a range of personal and physical care tasks which may include assistance with washing, dressing and eating.
Support and encourage people to make their own choices and decisions in all aspects of their daily lives.
Providing flexible support enabling people to take part in activities and achieve their personal outcomes.
Actively promoting and ensuring a high standard of care practice in accordance with National Care Standards, ensuring individuals are treated in a respectful and dignified manner at all times.
Pushing and pulling of equipment such as hoists, wheelchairs and use of emergency evacuation equipment whilst working within Health and Safety requirements.
Undertaking relevant training, taking ownership and being responsible for own continuous professional development, ensuring all required mandatory training and development needs are met within the required timescales.
Linking with other providers, statutory and voluntary agencies, including health, to develop positive working relationships compiling information on other relevant and available community resources.
Must have or be willing to achieve in the first period of registration, the social service and Healthcare SCQF6 SVQ 2 or equivalent to meet Scottish Social Services Council Registration.
Experience/awareness of National Care Standards service (Deliver results-See How we work matters framework)
You must have the ability to engage positively with groups of frail elderly service users, to develop strong positive and trusting relationships in order for them to attend day service and build links and friendships with others in their community.
Although no formal qualification are necessary a SVQ2 or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
The post holder will have to undertake and complete core training.
Ability to provide a regular and effective service.
Ability to travel.
Ability to make effective decisions.
Good Communication skills.
Experience of making effective decisions (Focus on customers)
Ability to be innovative and creative
Ability to work in a flexible way.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of outcome focused approach.
Ability to manage and prioritise workload.
Before confirming appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Membership through Disclosure Scotland.
