Job Description

What is the role?

To undertake assessment of need for sensory impaired people and provide appropriate rehabilitation, mobility and orientation training.

This post requires a professional qualification to allow the successful applicant to undertake this complex work .

The successful candidate requires to have completed the relevant Rehabilitation Qualification  which is DipHE in Rehabilitation & Vision Studies or Foundation Degree in Rehabilitation  (Visual Impairment) or equivalent. This is essential as the post holder will be undertaking complex rehabilitation training to people who are sight impaired.

There is also a requirement to be affiliated to the registered body for Rehabilitation Officers.

Extra information:

The Grade of this post is Grade 3 / Level 9, the hourly rate is from £19.47 to £21.14 and the annual salary is from £35,533 to £38,580.

This post is considered to be Regulated Work with children and protected adults as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) (PVG) Act 2007. Accordingly, the preferred candidate will be required to become a member of the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if already a Scheme member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made. The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly between home and the office and the frequency for attending the office may vary depending on the exigencies of the service.
