Due to the continued expansion within our service, exciting opportunities have arisen for both full-time and part-time permanent Reablement Carers.
As a Reablement Carer, you will be involved in the Reablement of Service Users within their own homes to assist them in achieving an optimum level of independence with aspects of daily living. You must be committed, demonstrate patience and have an understanding of the impact of holistic care needs of service users. You must be able to work under pressure and deal confidently, calmly and sensitively with difficult situations. You must have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both internal and external, and in addition, have excellent team working, with good written and verbal skills.
The posts will involve short-term Reablement provision of care, which includes Reablement, Home Care and Crisis Care Service Users throughout the Falkirk Council area.
You will receive training in Reablement and work closely with our colleagues in Social Work and Health in order to achieve best outcomes for Service Users.
You must hold a full driving licence; and have the ability to travel throughout Falkirk Council area; as a result, the Reablement Service has a pool of Council vehicles available to the Reablement Care staff in order to facilitate the delivery of support services across all geographical areas. A level of flexibility is required to meet the exigencies of the service.

Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council within the first 6 months of working with Falkirk Council is a requirement of the post. You will also be required to achieve an SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care within an agreed timescale if you have not already achieved this award.
You will work 35 hours per week.
If you are a successful candidate for the role of Reablement Carer, you will be working with children and/or vulnerable adults which is considered Regulated Work under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007; therefore you must have PVG membership or undergo a PVG scheme update.
