Charleston Square is a supported accommodation for young people. This resource is part of Renfrewshire Council Throughcare and Aftercare service. Renfrewshire Council is committed to providing the highest standards of care and are therefore developing this service. As a result, a number of exciting new opportunities have arisen. We are looking to recruit people who are committed to improving the lives of our young people and who are ambitious for their future.
You will be part of an expanding team providing support to young people helping to prepare them for independent living. The transition to independence is a critical time for our young people. They require a nurturing approach from workers providing support and guidance.
It is essential that you hold a BA(Hons) in Social work or equivalent qualification. It would be desirable that you hold an SVQ4 in Care Services Leadership and Management at SCQF Level 10. You will have experience and understanding of working with a Social Work Children’s and Families setting with experience of individual and family casework, assessment and care management processes. Experience of managing a supported accommodation and or residential house is desirable as is experience in developing systems and procedures and delivering training sessions.
You must have experience of case work and crisis intervention; experience of working with young people aged 16+; an understanding of the issues impacting on young people and the challenged they face; a commitment to relationship based practice and skilled in promoting positive attachments. You will have effective interpersonal, communication, literacy, assessment and analytical skills with knowledge and/or experience of SWIFT or equivalent and be computer literate.
You will have the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and other professionals, have knowledge of the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014 and the Continuing Care and Staying Put Agenda. You will have the ability to prioritise your own workload, maintain accurate case records. You will be flexible in approach and have a commitment to Social work values. You will be highly motivated and enthusiastic and a compassionate, respectful practitioner. You will have leadership and people management skills with management of residential staff desirable. This post is for 37 hours and you must be able to work some weekends and evening. You must be registered with SSSC or other appropriate regulatory body.
It is desirable that you are a registered manager.
